Dice Games Online: Free Games to Play with Friends

Dice games are the easiest way to get a group playing together: everyone understands a roll. Here are dice games you can play online, and how they compare.

Luck-only dice games

In games like Snakes and Ladders, the dice decide everything. They are fun for kids and quick rounds, but there is nothing to plan.

Dice plus a little choice

Ludo adds choices: which token to move, when to block, when to cut. It is still mostly luck, which is why it is so popular with mixed groups.

Dice plus strategy: trading games

In a property trading game like the business game, the dice decide where you land, but you decide everything else: buying, building, auctions and deals. That is why one game can feel completely different from the next. If you like a trading game online with friends, this is the type to try.

Tips for better dice games online

• Use a game with a turn timer so nobody holds the group up.
• Play on a video call so you can hear the reactions.
• Add bots when you are short of players.
• Agree on house rules before you start.
